I am using XP and IE 6.0. I need to use a intranet site that does a browser detect and only allows IE 5.5 users in.

How can I spoof my user agent and access this site?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

IE doesn't let you do that directly, you would have to use some sort of proxy server between you.

In the mean time, you could contact the webmaster and tell him to update his page.

There is a registry key to change that but I don't remember what or where it's at. I do know that Opera allows you to select which browser info it sends, so if you are really desperate you can download that.

Maybe he just got tired of working around different bugs in different versions of IE.
