Spontaneous New Hardware Wizard?

This is a queer one. No hardware and no significant software has recently been changed. Whilst enjoying a rigorous MP game of MOHAA all of a sudden it minimized and the New Hardware Wizard (Windows 2000) was there and soon searching for a driver which turned out to be for a Gravis Eliminator Precision Pro which I have never had. I do have a Gravis Xterminator Digital which has been fine. What up wid dat?
