splitting pdf files

I have a large (8 meg, several hundred page) PDF file. I want to split it into smaller (say, 500k) chunks to read on my palm. I do not have acrobat unfortunately, just reader. Is there another way to split this up? I've heard that there are sites that will make pdf files, but haven't found any.

Those conversion sites will create pdf files, but i doubt any will seperate out pages like your asking.

Your best bet is to find someone with the full version 4.0 or above, i know those versions include the ability to "extract pages". That way you can extract say pages 1-20, then 21-45, etc, etc. This would break it up into manageable chunks.

Could you point me to some conversion sites? Do they work by having me print to a file of some sorT? If so, then I could just print sections from acrobat reader. (In my college days, we had the acrobat pdf writer print driver - man was that handy!)

impetus: I checked the software you pointed out, however, it requires the full version of acrobat to work. It just makes things easier if you're splitting files.
