Splitting off a partition to install

I'm thinking of splitting off 30 or so GBs from an existing 250 GB parition (using gparted) to install my trial version of Vista. Is it possible if I don't want that O/S anymore to reclaim that space back into that same HD? Possibly using that same software? I haven't tried it yet.

If you decide u dont want vista anymore, just use the same software you used to create the partition to delete it. personally, I would reinstall Xp or w/e other os you were using on a new newly formatted drive. The remaining fragments of vista, if you delete it will "clog' the MFT if u just repartition and dont reformat- on the other hand you can get OK-not perfect reults by using perfectdisc or diskeeper
