Split-screen software

Anyone know of any decent software that will split a screen? I just got a laptop for my wife that has a split-screen utility and found that it might actually come in handy for me. The way it integrates is similar to utramon in that it will put a little icon in the program's title bar that you can click on and it will snap to whatever split-screen configuration you have set up.

Any such software out there similar to this?

I don't get what your saying. By split screen do you mean Virtual desktop? Like how linux has pretty much however virtual desktops you want?

It's like dual monitors, but just on one screen. A single screen is split up into sections, for example split in half vertically, and whatever program you're running, the window when maximized will snap to either the left or right section of the screen. Maximizing the window only takes up half the screen then.
