Splinter-like pain in heel of foot

totally at a loss for what this could be, but it feels like a splinter in my heel, but it's too big & well underneath, so it looks like a dot on my heel, but it hurts when i walk.

any ideas?

Another possible cause of Haglund's deformity is extreme stretching of the calf muscle. This stretching causes the calf muscle to pull on the tendon, which in turn may cause the bone to grow outwards in an attempt to keep the tendon attached to the bone.

An easy method to stretch the ligament on the bottom of the foot is to stand with your toes on a stair and your heel hanging off. Another method is to obtain one of those foot massagers that resembles a rolling pin, lay it on the floor, and roll your foot over it.

That would be treated with a wart removal liquid containing salicylic acid. Put this on twice a day and cover it with a bandaid. The salicylic acid kills and sloughs off the top layer of skin. After taking the bandaid off each night, scrape off the top layer of skin from the wart with a knife. This will help remove the dead wart tissue cells more aggressively to allow the next application of wart removal liquid to penetrate further into the living wart tissue.

After a few weeks of this treatment, scrape the dead wart tissue off more aggressively. The wart is similar to a carrot in that it contains a substantial amount of root under the surface that will need to be removed. It is common to scrape away the wart tissue, forming a hole in the skin. This should not hurt since the salicylic acid should have killed the wart tissue. The hole will fill in with normal skin tissue once the root of the wart has been completely removed.
