Splinter Cell PC. What do you lot think about it. No Spoilers Please.

Hi,
I just got Splinter Cell PC today, a day before the UK release (preordered with gameplay), anyway, so far, im up to the CIA building.
Upto now, i think that the sheer variety of freedom, and movement that you can do, is amazing.
The graphics are great as well, and EAX works fine.
For some reason though, it only runs at 30fps, which is fine for a game like SC, but ive got a 9700PRO for christs sake.
Apparently the patch speeds up by quite a bit. Does the patch on fileplanet, work with UK versions? Cos it doesnt say US only.
