I posted this over in Off-Topic, but someone felt it belonged here, so we'll give that a try.

Here is my situation - my girlfriend has been kind enough to offer to pre-order the new Splinter Cell for me. Up until now I have always played it on the PC. However, I do enjoy sitting on my couch and playing Xbox.

So can anyone care to comment on the gameplay between the 2?

I guess I could also run the Xbox into my HDTV. Seems like that may be the best of both worlds. Anyone care to comment on this?

Or just vote. :)

I prefer Xbox, because my PC is older, and for LAN/XboxLive play.

If your PC is newer, and can play it at a higher resolution and with higher graphical settings, buy it for PC (and grab yourself an Xbox360 controller; they're USB and work with PCs).

However, I just read in a Splinter Cell 4 thread on another forum that the PC version of Chaos Theory suffers from bugs in its multiplayer mode that to this day remain unpatched. So, keep that in mind.

Maybe I'll give it a go with the DVI to HDMI cable option. Finally put that wireless keyboard/mouse to work.

Right now the computer is a P4 2.8 w/ 1GB of RAM and an nVidia 6800 GTO (or whatever Dell called it)

So that should run it ok...yes/no?

Not sure, I ran it on a 7800GT, Dualcore 3800, and 2GB of ram and turned all the settings up.

Yeah. Splinter Cell Double Agent.

Due out in March. Looks really cool. Open ended type deal where you (Sam) infiltrate a terrorist cell.

Oh yea, I keep forgetting about that one for some reason. Anyhow, I'd still play that one on PC, can't look any worse than Chaos Theory which looked amazing with SM3.0.

It is coming out for 360 a few weeks after the initial release.

However, my wallet doesn't currently have the specs to run an xbox 360.

It'll be out on everything; PC, Xbox, Xbox360, PS2, Gamecube...probably even DS, PSP, and cell phone versions, if history holds true.

It is coming out for the xbox as well. I had just considered the PC into HDTV option to get the nice big screen and stuff.

I also never tried any of them on the xbox and was wondering how it was. Since some games lend themselves to a console better than others.

Ok, so to keep on topic.

Which has better gameplay. The Xbox (w/ controller) or PC (w/ Keyboard and mouse OR w/ Xbox360 Controller)?

IMO the Xbox is better. If your comparing controller/gameplay. For one thing the control over how fast Sam moves is very important and its much easier and smoother with the Analog stick vs a mouse wheel. I also find the camera/look is better with the stick. And when sniping its supposed to be a challenge, which it is with the controller, but with a mouse it makes it too easy.
