splinter cell demo..

to all those people that have installed and played the demo ok:

when you enable your thermographic vision, do you get alot of colours (like this)

all i get is blue, even when i'm face to face with a guy, it's just not the same without the swish thermo 🙁

any comments appreciated

I just went through the readme. One of the lines stated:

- Please note that the thermal vision, on GeForce 2 cards, is not in its final state. We were still working on this feature at the time of the demo.

I get the same blue screen with a Geforce 4 Go, which is the same core as a Geforce 2, just a different name. Runs pretty slowly too, so it looks like this is one game I'll be passing on until I build a new rig for college during the summer.

Yes, with a Ti4200 128MB ram. I even have a slow 900mhz system, but that game is smooth like butter. (the demo that is)

Just tried it...meh....I still prefer it on my Xbox. YOu just can't beat the analog stick for controlling your speed. Feels more like a FPS on a PC for some reason. Game ran nice on my Ti4200/AthlonXP 1900+ though.

When I was playing the demo I could tell this was designed for a console. All of the other Tom Clancy games are much different, not that splinter cell is bad, but it is different. I much prefer the FPS viewpoint, that I cannot get with splinter cell.

I do like the graphics and the voices of people around corners, etc. The little devices are cool too, like the camera for doors, it reminds me of the mirror for swat3. (now that was a fun game, cant wait for swat4) I have yet to try the "chimney crawl" up the walls but I am guessing it is pretty good. The gun accuracy sucks though... And having to hit esc (PC) to access your information is lame.

I have not played the demo very much, but I do hope it grows on me since I have heard good things about it.

Other than the gun you have and one other one (it has multiple gadgets though like diversion cameras, shockers, etc) there are no other weapons. (In terms of firearms - there are grenades)

The other gun (don't know the name of it) has a scope...it's pretty sweet 🙂 No steath game is complete without a sniper rifle of some sort
