Don't mean to be rude, but ign has been reporting this since early December. However, the XBOX exclusive deal prevented media for covering it or talking bout it outside of rumour mills or in limited comments. Should be a good test of the Gamecube hardware. It will probably show how dated the PS2 hardware is getting. New versions have extra levels, but I would assume that is what XBOX Live will be offering once they get the downloadable extras rolling.

from the screen shots you can totally tell that the hardware is dated.

but at least they will get to play a fun game!

The PS2 version will probably look no where near as good as the Xbox or GC versions. The PS2 can push a ton of polys, but it only has 32mb or ram and no texture compression. So the game will have to severely limit the amount and quality of the textures used.

Yeah, the article does say its been known for a while, but this is the first time its been confirmed.

The ps2 screen shots do have the shadows, but some of the textures look weak. The xbox version did look steller, its nice to see they're porting it at least. I won't be buying it for either the ps2 or the pc, just because I'm not really into the style of gameplay it offers.
