I'm necroing this post just to mention that the final game actually released today. It's surprisingly polished and functional. Not a ton of content, but there's like five different maps (each one considerably large with varied terrain) and the objective is to basically drive around the map to different garages, fuel points, and whatnot to activate different missions and transport loads of cargo (mostly wood logs I think) to different points.

I bought it because there is a sore lack of offroad-driving simulators on the market today. I've been craving a hardcore offroad driving game for a long time, and this is as good as it gets for now.

I will say... this is the most hostile driving game I have ever played in my life. I can't comment on the actual missions or game progression because I can't drive my truck far enough to get to one without getting stuck two feet deep in the mud. Goddamn.

Edit: I may record a gameplay video later. In the meantime, here's some videos of what it looks like in real life:

The terrain deformation and the water physics are some of the best I've ever seen in a game though. The graphics are good, the sound effects are good, and the driving mechanics in general feel very meaty and visceral. If your idea of a good time is winching a rusty old logging truck at 5mph through a river of mud deep in the Russian wilderness in the middle of the night, this is the game for you.

Not to mention it is moddable. Many mods (maps and vehicles) were created by the community for the demo. I know there was some big anticipation for this game on an offroading board I'm on, not to mention my brother. It's nice to finally have a good game to simulate offroading. Rigs of Rods was about the only thing out there worth messing with till now.

I put in an hour or so last night after it finally went live.

I to found the game pretty complete, as in not many bugs and feels polished for an early release game. Its kind of hard to figure out at first, but with some searching and key punching I found out how to keep myself moving for the most part. Just gotta pretty much stick it in All wheel drive (E) and with the diffs locked (Q) to keep moving.
After finally driving to all cloaks and opening up the map, I decided it was time to try a mission. I gave the lumber truck a shot, drove to the lumber yard and after 10 minutes of guessing finally figured out how to load up wood. The crane is worthless, so I found it nice that there is a button to just push and it loads up everything for you.
So off I went... and a little to offroad for the load I guess. My load slipped off and I had to try to reload it with the silly ass crane. After a while I gave up,.. will give it another shot next week when I have more time.

Worth the $29.99? ahhhh time will tell. Its fun, and I've spent a lot more for a lot less in the past. Its something I can play for a bit, get my fix, and not burned out or frustrated so I will go back to it plenty of times Im sure.

As promised, here's a gameplay video of me attempting to move some logs to the other side of the map. (As you can probably guess, I didn't make it. I underestimated how deep the water would be in that lake, and, uh... yeah.)

I apologize for the semi-wonky camera. The camera is actually a legit PITA right now, if the Steam forum is anything to go by, and the developers say they're gonna improve it a bit. Also, I spend a bit too much time messing with the truck anchors and crane controls.

Man this game kicks all forms of asses! Its been a very long time that a game has put a really huge smile on my face, let along my sons face who dislikes car games, and we both have been having a hell of a lot of fun!

Agreed! It's the manly man's whoop ass driving game :). Multiplayer is blast.

I'm impressed, especially by the sequence near the end where the drive wheel on the tractor dug itself into the soil and you had to winch the rig out. Might have to pick this up.

I guess I should clarify: A winch, AFAIK, is a device mounted in the front of an offroad vehicle that can be used to get you out situations where you're totally stuck. It basically extends a very strong cable which you can attach to a rock or a tree or something, and then it slowly reels the cable in and pulls your truck out.

This is a piece of equipment that exists in the game, but I haven't used it or unlocked it yet (either that, or I just haven't used a vehicle with a winch built in). Would certainly be helpful though. I've gotten stuck a lot.

If you don't already have a beard, then this game will certainly make you grow one. ;)
