Spilt Beer

A week ago I spilt about 1/3 of a beer into the top of my tower. Went right into the top vent. I unplugged it and dabbed a tissue around, it looked like the video card was the only thing wet. After letting it dry for a couple days, I tried to turn it on and it immediately turned off. And it kept turning on/off/on/off every 5 seconds until I unplugged it. The fan on the motherboard is making a weird rattling sound too.

My buddy thought it might be the video card, so he let me put his video card in my computer but it did the exact same thing when I turned it on. Turns on for about 5 seconds then cuts off.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Is your cpu fan working? Sounds like it's overheating which causes the system to shut down to prevent any permanent damage.

You need to break it down and clean as much of the beer out of it as possible. 90% isopropyl alcohol and some qtips should do the trick.
