I just got back from getting groceries and the laundry detergent cap was not closed properly and it fell and spilled quite a bit. A lot went on the floor mat which I have taken out to wash and dry. Quite a bit also went on the floor carpet of the car. I am finding ways to clean it up. I have cleaned as much as possible with a rag. Cleaning with water just causes it to foam up. Anyone have experience on cleaning this kind of stuff? I cannot afford to take it to a professional cleaner

Rinse with hot water, then tumble dry low. Warm iron as needed.

EDIT: Sorry, I was going to suggest a good rinsing, but that seems to not be working for you. Steam cleaner maybe?

You can rent one from the grocery store (i'm serious). They usually have them in the back. Home Depot might have them for rent too.

If you have a wet/dry shopvac, you can flood the area with hot water, suck it up really well, flood it, suck it up, etc, until it's gone. Then run the air conditioner until it's completely dry.
