So I left a gallon jug of apple cider in my fiancee's new car... and it tipped over on the way home last night... and we found it this afternoon.

The whole car smells like apple cider. The good stuff too, it was like partially fermented.

What's the best way to get the smell out of the car?
What's the best way to get the cider out of the carpet?

Eeeek thanks for any help!

Well you're still alive.....for now.

Use a wet/dry vac and vacuum out as much as possible. Then use a damp towel to blot the area and wipe it with a dry towel. Repeat forever.

After vacuuming, spread out newspaper all over the floor and put charcoal briquettes out all over.

Got the smell of 5 gallons of gas out of my van.. in only about 6 months. Also, you can try to water it down and vacuum it out, it may take a few rinse-and-repeat treatments though.

Ozone will definitely do the trick. Make sure and air the car out after the fact though, ozone is dangerous for your health when you breath too much of it. My dad's company has a big rig trailer with an ozone generator to get mold or smells out of furniture.

I dunno your fiance so I can't say if your life is endangered, but your sex life is most likely over for awhile.

Throw a couple of dogs in it for about half an hour. It won't smell like cider any more.

A week after I got my M3 I spilled a litre of bleach in the back passenger footwell onto the lovely soft black carpet...

Didn't make a mark! I was VERY lucky. Cheap bleach + spotting it right away was my saviour. I did shit my pants though.

Damn that must have been scary!

Cider is ok, though, it will make the car like like hangover and who doesn't like that?
