I just saw a little brown spider bout 1/2 inch, run behind my computer. Is it true most house spiders are harmless and actually kill other bugs?

Depends on the size and type.... but I normally prefer them outside instead of inside....

They are man-killers!
Pack up your crap and move!

Small spiders wouldn't bother me...
it's the big black hairy ones that move like lightning that are freaky!

Nobody else here to kill them for me, so I gotta do it :( I hate, hate, hate, hate spiders. Hate 'em. Can't stand them either.

It depends on whether there is a hot chick I can bang when she calls me at obscene hours of the night to kill them.

Spiders inside are good, but I wouldn't want an overabundance of them. In other words I wouldn't breed them heh.

The ones I normally see inside my house are the ones that don't build webs. The giant monsters in my garage are another story, but even then they are protecting me from much worse flying insects. Things that fly and sting are much worse then spiders :) I just use the leafblower to clean out the webs every once and awhile.

I don't mind them.

Crane flies OTOH are annoying and must be destroyed.

..Oh ya and if I lived in Arizona where I think every spider can kill you and feed you to its young I would not want them in my house. The ones I find here and there by me are not super deadly :)

i don't know about the leafblower thing man, your just blowing em up into the air and end up breathing it in. i usually just use a vacuum for then garage or water hose for the outside. after finding out that dust is mostly made of lint, human skin, and spider webs....i don't know man, no need to add to it i guess.

I like spiders and always have, but I am admittedly frightened by the big, hairy ones. However, I have really gotten sick of them lately because the damn things are always in my house!! I am tired of it.
Last night my son spotted a huge one in the kitchen. This thing was almost TWO freaking inches. Armed with a shoe and one can of spray each we both fired and covered her in the poison. Still, the spider walked on...Oh and how do I know it was a she? For the second time in a month that I've seen this phenomenon, baby spiders began jumping off. We got them too. Ugh...I am going to look into something powerful this weekend that will help. I don't have any pets so I don't have to worry about them getting into it.
Damn spiders!

If bugs are inside or on me while I'm outside, they're fair game. If they can kill me before I can kill them, good for them. I'm running a score of about a million to none, though. I think the game is unfairly balanced.

If I see one up on the wall or ceiling minding its own business and it's not a black widow, I'm not going to bother it. I figure they're keeping the bug population down.

On the other hand, if the cats find a spider on the floor, that sucker's going in the toilet or out the door. I don't want them to get bitten. :(

I take no chances... if I can reach 'em, squash. If I can't reach 'em, out comes the spray of death.

I found a vampire spider living in my headboard, it would come out every night to feed on me.

If my kids are around, I take them outside "to be with their families where they can have something to eat". If they're not around, I suck them up with the vacuum cleaner.
