He is our hero!

The first time I saw one of those outside my house, I googled "black and yellow spider" and identified it as harmless in short order. Then I took pics.

what you do is get a new can of Carb cleaner....and a nice long lighter....and ....well you know the rest.....

Spray paint stripper with the pushbutton drilled out so it shoots a stream - works best. Methylene chloride based stripper will take down divebombing wasps faster than those .50's they used at Pearl against Zeroes. :Q

Just watch the paint down below!

OT - is there any danger of explosion with aerosol cans + flames? I say that it's minimal, because there's no oxygen inside the can. The exploding containers of hairspray that I've heard about in the past were probably pump-action things, which have plenty of good oxygen inside the container.
I ask because I kind of tried making a flamethrower with a can of butane. I got a nice 10-15' flame out of it. No explosion, and the base of the flame was at least 6" from the tip of the can. Fun stuff. 😀

Unless you're being sarcastic, thanks for proving my point.

Hmmm that sounds dangerous. We never advocate doing anything that would put us in harm's path. 😛

Propane gives lots of fire with minimal danger of explosion. It's found behind most stage sets that allow open flames. On a ship this is not allowed - CG projected either via laser systems or high definition projectors along with massive capacitor banks discharging through mercury displacement relays into multi kw banks of filtered tungsten-halogen lamps provides a good substitute. Whenever flames are seen on the set the audience will feel the heat on their faces - just like in real life.

Although they will bite to defend themselves they are harmless, albeit scary. I remember once when my wife had to go bad and there was no where for miles I took in through the woods to go a-natural. I stepped on a bit of weeds and when I let up they sprung back and one of these was trust a few inches from her. I think she went right there.

As much I freak out and squeal like a little girl at most spiders, those yellow and black garden spiders are pretty cool.

I feed and occasionally pet the ones we get on our front porch. 😱

I agree with you on everything you said but the squealing like a girlie part 😉

I also have Bananna Spiders in my back yard and throw an occasional black cricket in one of the webs. I once saw a small skink (lizard) in one of their webs.
When I lived in FL, the Fkers in the pic below were quick and hunted on the ground and were faster than roaches!!! As fast as a wolf spider and as big around as a tarantula!

Got up one morning to brush my teeth. Opened up the medicine cabinet for the toothpaste and jumped when I saw this thing right in front of me.............

Huntsman Spider

Don't let the pic fool ya'. Spread the fingers on your hand apart, that's HUGE! Giants and Little people excluded 🙂
