Is there a web site which has some of the early issues scanned in, starting with Amazing Fantasy #15?

Well there shouldn't be... it's illegal after all. ;)

You can probably find a Trade Paperback of some sort at the library.

They have compiled the first books many times...

BTW, the site I linked above that has scans of every page says it was worth 27K. Why so much? I realize the content drives it, but was it limited edition? Only a few survived?

Often a good geek will be able to tell you the history of an issue like that... like who owned it and when....;)

Your right of course ;) I have also picked up reprints of the originals, if it's a popular character/comic they sometimes release reprints.

its only worth that much if the comic is in "mint" condition...

which means their can't be one crease in the spine and not one corner of any page damaged or folded.

many times, comics sold brand new in book stores aren't in mint condition. Amazing Fantasy 15 in fair condition probably isn't worth even 10k.

the movie was based on many spiderman comics... the green goblin was a classic villian of spider man that made several appearances... however, i'd say a big chunk of the movie is based on Amazing Fastansy 15.

Right, so we have a link to AF #15
Which one debuts GreenGoblin and which one shows his death?

hmm.. i'm not sure when the Green Goblin debuts... i'm pretty sure its with in the first 20 issues of "The Amazing Spider-man". The original Green Goblin probably dies around some where in issues 100-150... those are just quick guesses though.

Your right about the first appearance, it was Amazing Spiderman#14(july1964) but I couldn't find the issue he died in although your approximation sounds right.

I think he dies in the issue right after the one where he kills Gwen Stacey. Now If I could only have to find out that number and we might have your answer

1st appearance of Green Goblin - Amazing Spider-man #14
Death of Green Goblin - Amazing Spider-Man #122

I'm not a Spidey fan, just a simple lookup at an online comic website.

These scans may be illegal. They issue reprints, and graphic novels (a whole bunch of comics together) of Spiderman. BUY THEM. Comics = better in paper form.

The movie is a compilation of several storylines.

The origin, the appearance of GG, the death of Gwen Stacy, discovery of Spidey's identity, the death of GG...

True, then I'd say you would need issues 39 and 40 because this is when the goblin unmasks spidy. The climax of the film came from issues 120-122. I'd call issue 122 the worst day in the life of spidy, but he totally changes that in the film.

A side note, but many current issues are available in their intirety at marvel.com. I recall reading most of the Ultimite Spider-Man series. Pretty neat layout too.
