spider identification! :)

Most belly or back marked spiders are usually quite venemous, and the asymetrical style of web is quite simular to those
of webs made by the Black and Brown Widow species.

Not something that you'ld want to put into a petting zoo.

It had a pretty big symmetrical web to the side that extended from the house to the bush.

I tried getting a pic of it, but I couldn't quite get it in the picture with the light and all.

Yep it's an orb weaver. You can tell these spiders because they will usually find leaves to make little caves for them to hide in.

Hmm - I'm not sure about what species you have there............ but it looks cool

Wanna TRADE it for this Dysdera Crocata that i found in my kitchen sink.

Which one would win in a spider vs. spider showdown??

good idea... shall we make a battle poll? heh.

and yea, i guess it's a orb weaver... the pics on that site look a little different, but the markings are definitely the same.

Man, spiders just freak me out. I hate them! We have a couple 4x4 pieces of wood next to the side of our house and we moved it the other day to cut the grass near it...HUGE black widow scurries out and dives under some other wood. FREAKED ME OUT!!! Bout crapped my pants and almost started screaming like a little girl. My wife being the brave fearless one, found it the next day and killed it for me. 🙂
