Don't want to mess with this

I noticed the web in my friends pool cage (down in florida.. where all the pools are caged in...) on Monday I think of last week. Didn't think much of it. His little cousin.. or distant cousin.. whatever, was near it sun bathing on Wednesday of that week. The next morning I went for a dip in the pool and noticed a salamander in the web. And well, right next to it was this black spider.....

One of the neighbors (who has lived there for a while) said it wasn't a black widow.. but he didn't see this relatively clear pic of the underside.... this is a black widow ain't it? sure as hell looks like it....

I am an expert at spotting black widows and that is definitely one.

There are other black spiders with red hourglasses, but the black widow has a distinctive shape.

Some Black Widow "facts" (ripped from a website):

Black Widow is considered the most venomous spider in North America.

The venom of the black widow spider is 15 times as toxic as the venom of the prairie rattlesnake.

Black Widow spiders are not usually deadly, especially to adults, because they inject only a small amount of venom.

Only the female Black Widow is venomous; males and juveniles are harmless..

The female Black Widow hangs belly upward and rarely leaves the web.

Give the black widow a name, consider it a pet, and bring it goodies (other salamanders, etc.) every day. See how big it gets.
