I love hot and spicy food. I'm looking for unusual foods that people don't normally consider adding hot spices to, but that still taste wonderful.
Last night I created a recipe which has to be one of the best things I've ever eaten. However, it is unusual and I don't think many people would consider eating it. I was given some hot sauce which is basically habanero + molasses + some spices. I couldn't think of what I would want that would be spicy and sweet. Then I thought of honey baked ham.
[*]1 tbsp honey
[*]1 tbsp habanero/molasses sauce
[*]1/4 tsp mustard powder.
[*]3/4" thick ham slab, scored, and coated.
[*]350°F oven for 20 min.
[*]Recoat with more of the sauce, including carmelized sauce which hit bottom of the pan.
[*]350°F oven for 20 min.
By the way popcorn, ramen noodles, and mac & cheese all go great with crushed red pepper.
