Sperm Banking

A brief background:

On Tuesday the 19th I start my 3 month long 4xBEP cycle. I've been speaking to several doctors in different areas to get an idea of what to expect, and they all recommend saving some sperm in case I become infertile. Today I went to the fertility clinic to complete one of two deposits. Unfortunately, I was unable to release anything despite having no problem in any other case. I'm not sure if it was anxiety, the setting, or not being "in the mood," but nothing came of my efforts.

Anyway, the lady doctor told me that this happens from time to time and not to worry. Apparently it takes ~3 days or so for the sperm to rejuvenate and my next appointment is on Monday. She gave me a small cup/vile to take home since I live only 15 minutes from the clinic and I told her that I've never had problems at home.

The question:

I really don't want to fail this time since it could be the only way for me to have children in the future. I know some guys donate regularly and I was wondering if any of you have tips on how do it successfully. The problem that I foresee is the erection making it difficult to catch anything since I'm going to have to awkwardly lean over to avoid spillage. This is embarrassing to ask, but is there an efficient way to go about this whole thing without spilling? Are there any guys here with some experience?

For those who don't know, BEP is an acronym for bleomycin, etoposide, and cisplatin. All three are drugs to treat cancer, more specifically, testicular cancer. Chemotherapy.

Well it's good to be clean, they just don't want anything mixing with the semen so it doesn't get contaminated.

Thank you for helping. Unfortunately, the doctors were clear that contacting the sperm with other substances can mess with it. Many condoms have spermicides in them to help prevent pregnancy and thus can damage a significant portion of them. I don't know how sperm is delivered, but when storing it, it needs to be kept unaltered.

My question is a bit embarrassing, but I don't know anyone with personal experience with my sort of cancer so I'm trying to get advice from other people. Thank you.

You should have mentioned about the cancer in your OP if you expect to get more serious answers I wasn't clear what a 3 month long 4xBEP cycle was. Sorry to hear you have to go through that and hope everything goes well. Not sure what to suggest since I've never had to donate. One suggestion off the top of my head, get yourself really worked up just before you go, watch some good pr0n etc. etc., get blue balls Then you shouldn't have as much of a problem when you get there?

Sorry to hear you have to go through that and hope everything goes well. Not sure what to suggest since I've never had to donate. I thought he meant cycling... I've heard that guys who ride alot have problems later with sperm count and thought this was just an extension of that... hehe extension...
