In India ppl prefer pc games "and buy graphics card's mainly grey market" to console games "except a few like Tekken, etc". I am one of such ppl. My friend bought a Xbox 360 core "Yes its still available here" and on my req. Gears of war.

But later that night when i really started to game "about 11 PM" i felt a certain slowness in the game. I thought the dam thing is overheating so i switched it off and started it again "about 1 AM" but still that odd gameplay.

My question is that this slowness is it due to some kind of Vsync or something??
And also is there anyway to overclock the GPU inside for a faster gameplay if its not a issue of Vsync!!

Mass banning ftw?

OP: I wouldn't be suprised if the xbox360 was struggling to hit 30 fps in Gears, which is probably the slowdown you're seeing

I have an Xbox 360 (w/GOW) and a PC (HD3870/Q6600/2GB). Honestly I spend more nights on the xbox just as my friends are mostly on that platform, but as a console it runs pretty well. I have about 10+ games on the console and I do see an occasional hickup or slow down depending on what is going on in the gaming environment but this is no more frequent compared to gaming on the PC. On GOW I don't think I ever saw a slow down, at least from what I recall but I have seen it once in Lost Planet on the console.
I think probably the slowness is more attributed to the controls. Going from a KBM to a controller, does feel akward and slow responding. So much so that many people avoid buying consoles in the first place. After a while you get familiar with it, but still for twitch shooters there's no replacement for the KBM.
Another possibility might be your TV. I game on a HDTV and/or 22 inch LCD Panel. I have seen in TV stores the occasional syncing issue so even DVD's look <30 frames which I believe is a HD resolution mismatch.
As far as overclocking, nothing that I know of on any console.

idiotekniQues : Unsatisfied is right... Lets link this reason to "Why not to buy a Xbox"

LordGestle : I was told in another forum that the speed issue or lack of it is due to the Video sync. that has to around 29.9 FPS for the NTFS and 25 for PAL. This was done for better post processing and compatibility...!!

schneiderguy : Mass banning?? What??
