Had most of the components to build a new computer. Just need a video card to play basic games at acceptable resolution??

I have AGP or PCI-E 4x slot..


Is the 6800 series the best to match the E6300 and 2 GB Ram??

What is your budget for the card?

No reason to go with an AGP card as equivalent PCI-e cards are usually cheaper.

You can get a PCI-e 7600 GT for $130 shipped ($115 AR) at Newegg. Probably the best card for <$150.

Or you can get an X800GTO2 for $91 shipped.

 
Yea, PCI-e 4x should be plenty for a 7600GT. Still a very solid card though. I was able to game fairly well with my 6800GT at 1280x1024 in most games, and the 7600GT is faster.
