Yea. I got a pillowtop that is on both sides. The salesman said "I don't care if you buy it here or not but just never, never buy a single sided pillowtop" Never asked him why.
Edit: Mine is as think as his. One thing I noticed is that its heavy as hell compared to other matresses.

HAHAHA....that's laughable....why dont the most well known quality mattress companies make double sided pillow tops then? Generally double sided pillow tops are sold at mattress-factory stores.....Look at the materials in your mattress, they most likely used cotton, cotton gets matted down very easily so your gonna need that second side because the first side isn't gonna last for sh1t.....high quality mattresses dont use cotton and therefore generally have one sided pillowtops aka Stearns and Foster/Sealy/Simmons/Temperpedic.......
?No-Flip? / One-Sided Mattresses
The important question to ask here is whether or not this is really a benefit to you, the consumer. In our opinion, the manufacturer and retailer have everything to gain here by reducing their costs, but the consumer is short changed. From what we have seen, we simply do not believe that the customer has anything to gain from a one-sided product. We like to call ?no-flip? mattresses ?can?t flip? mattresses. The implication of the ?no- flip? products is that they don?t need to be flipped. In fact, these products are designed with padding on only one side and cannot be flipped. Although you do not have to flip a 2 sided mattress, flipping can extend the life of your product and minimize body impressions.
