I wanted to up my chili game. I had a huge craving for chili the last few days. It usually costs me around 40 dollars to make my chili...but I figured the new knowledge I gathered would up it to 50 bucks...mostly because of spices I have to buy in bulk.

I get to the the store and proceeded to the meat section. Lo and behold, the ground beef was 9 dollars a pound. Immediately left the meat counter and bought a can of stagg chili. 🙁
 
normally I would say fuck it and buy it. There's something about knowing you are getting gouged that really sticks in my craw.

And you could use turkey/chicken but IMO its just not the same ... pork can be a really good substitute but may not be in any better supply then beef at this point.
