I'm a cheapskate. but I generally have no problem spending on two things: education and travel.

I consistently see parents who buy new cars every couple of years and buying a lot of "stuff", but begrudge spending a nickel on education.

Frankly, I don't get it.

I'm thinking about building a AK-47. It seems that you can buy a $15 hunk of sheet metal, shape it into a 3-sided box, add the internals, and you've just created an undocumented AK-47 receiver. It's totally legal and legit. All the rest of the parts can be bought and sent directly to your house because the receiver is the only part that's controlled.

Amazing.

I like travelling too.

I paid my own way through college and grad school. F-YOU MOM AND DAD!! FFFFF-YYYYOOOOUUUU!!! :(

People are consumer whores, that's why. They chase possessions, oblivious to the continual fact in their life that for all the toys they've bought they have not yet found meaning and never will shooting in the dark.

Dude, the whole AK-47 in your garage thing blows my mind. On the Calguns forum, these guys organize "build parties" to pool the equipment (metal bending, presses, welding tools, etc.) and help each other out. I'm thinking I'll do a Saiga rifle conversion first and then decide if I really need a home-built AK.

$500 for a new AR?? I'd be skeptical of what I was getting. What did you pass up?

I bought a couple of Mega stripped lowers last week; still waiting for the 10 days to go by. I've got the upper and the lower parts kit, and I need to go to the post office this morning to see that the USPS has done with my stock kit.

Grad school was free, man. Engineers and physcial science majors don't pay for school! :D I was just trying to stay on topic and stuff.

parents shouldnt be paying for their kids education. they should either work/save up or take out a loan.

secondly i think travel is a waste of money.

frankly, i don't get it that you don't get it. people are going to value things differently.

No...whoever dies with the most toys still dies...
That is close, but still not quite right. Whoever dies with the most toys had 50 years of junk gathering dust in the basement, no money to do anything fun during life, and still dies.

How would you know what they spend on education?

And why is it any of your business?

He has made his business in life to be in other people's business apparently.
He's very concerned about what other people are doing when he should be worrying about his own life and family.
(And trolling)

He really does not seem as friendly and informed as Mr. Whoopee. I am starting to think it is not really him at all.

People should spend more money on hand grenades. Quite frankly, our neighborhoods and homes suffer from a deficit of hand grenades.

It's pretty interesting that a homeless man with no money (who according to some here never even existed) could change the world.

I'm pretty sure I rocked the world of the girl I brought back home last night, but you don't see me bragging about it.
