spending a week in washington, dc

anyone have any suggestions for what to see, when to go, and where to stay?

I've been thinking about when I'm going to take my vacation time this year, and since I'm required to spend my vacation by myself (all my friends have already taken their time for this calandar year), it makes sense to go someplace where there's lots of stuff to see and DC is the only major city in the continental US/Canada that I've never been to.

hmm...i live in MD and can say that D.C. is not the most entertaining. Get to all the museums and what not, but make sure you leave time for the Holocaust museum.

You can take the Metro and do a lot of tourist stuff.

Monuments, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, White House, etc.

The new air and space museum and spy museum are supposed to be pretty cool.

Georgetown is a must at night.

Im also doing job interviews for the next two weeks just outside of DC......

yeah just a lot of monuments and stuff....8th grade class trip

There's a Dave & Buster's in MD close to DC....definitely worth while.
