Spend tons extra for the worst sort of paint job?

I've seen a couple of cars with it around here but thankfully it's not popular. The only vehicles that suit a matte finish are vintage airplanes. That's only because they used canvas instead of metal for the bodywork.

On the right car I think it works. However I thought this trend has passed a few years ago

Most of them are just wraps while still not cheap at least you can easily go back to the original color.

it says you cant even look at it without scratching, and once you do you cant fix it, the whole car has to be repainted.

i think its just an excuse for these pompous aholes to get all pissy about who gets close to their car. i see it as primer. its not a finished job.

I want a car coated in teflon. That way on a hot summer day, I just wet-wipe the hood clean, and bam, I can fry my eggs right there!

Saw this posted about BMW's matte finish offering last time. Could not help but laugh.

If you kept this car in a hermetically sealed case forever then yes the paint job would make some sense otherwise have fun repainting that thing over and over and over...
