Watching the show on ESPN2, and was wondering....

do the questions the spellers ask REALLY help them spell?

like... the word Monogoneutic.

it's definition is "Having but one brood in a season"

that dont mean SQUAT to me.

I'm seriously starting to belive that....

they had one word, vorago... which means "chasm" or something like that...

i can't find it in any dictionary.

It's useful to know the definitions of words in order to properly recognize the roots of the words. Knowing the Latin/Greek/German/etc. roots that the word is made up of makes it much more easy to spell the word correctly.
