Hi,

I just downloaded OE 6 and noticed that I can't get the spell checker to work. The spell check icon is grayed out for some reason. Is there a setting or something that I need to change to get it to work? I find it hard to believe that the spell check would be disabled by default. Weird.. If I don't get an answer, I'll just try reinstalling OE6.

Thanks,

Sal

F^cking MS POS! I uninstalled OE6 and it won't let me touch 5. It won't let me install anything older than what I have either. Something's screwy and because of the way MS runs their downloads, I'm pretty much stuck.

What amazes me is that I don't have any signs of a spell checker for some reason. I went into options and the spell checker tab is not there. It's not like I'm getting errors, it's just not there. What's up with this?

Heh.. I just found that on the MS site a minute ago and I wanted to come back and report what I had found. I hadn't gotten around to installing Office yet.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

It doesn't have to be Office, but any Microsoft product that has a Spell Checker.

I don't like any Microsoft products with spell checkers, so I use a nifty 3rd party offering called "QuickSpell."

If I had to use a M$ product I would probably pick Publisher . . . it gives you the Spell checker with the least amount of system intrusiveness. :)
