Toms owner was an 'aunt jamiama' type... her voice has since been redubbed.

Anytime Tom took a dynamite stick to the head his face would be blackened, his lips would enlarge 10x and he would have a bone wrapped in a pony tail above his head....*snip*.

Oh well.
 
If they're banning speedy gonzalas, they might as well ban ban Daffy Duck for making fun of people with lisps, and ban Yosimite Sam for making fun of Texans, and ban Porky Pig for making fun of fat gay people 😱 For crying out loud... how'd so many bleeding heart liberals get into our government and media to make these decisions?

If they're doing it with cartoons, they might as well eradicate ALL media that pre-dates the 80s... tv shows, movies... you name it. It's History people!!! We can't change our past, and we should NOT ignore it, or we'll be doomed to repeat it!

Since some crazed victicrats decided they needed another cause to fight for. This is my whole problem with the civil rights movement, instead of trying to stop real cases of racism and bigotry, they fight for pathetic causes such as this and trivialize legitimate cases of discrimination, and end up causing more harm than good.

Yep, I would have liked to have seen the coyote get his comeuppance. The roadrunner was an idiot, too.
 
How do you guys feel about the Washington Redskins, etc? It's an extension of the same thing. While I agree that it seems absurd to ban a cartoon character, think about the thought that went into its creation. The intent was probably to create a humorous ethnic stereotype. Do you think you could get away with "Speedy Sambo" or something? Or would you think it was funny and not offensive to anyone?

HE WAS A MOUSE WHO HAPPENED TO BE MEXICAN!!!! What's the problem with that!?!? Do French people get pissed at Pepe LePew (sp?) for stereotyping the French as smelling like a skunk's ass?? Do Texans get pissed at Yosemite Sam for making the stereotype that texans are a bunch of gun-toting bumpkins?

I don't get it, I just don't 😕
 
This isn't the start of this kind of crap.

Other cartoons that have been shelved or edited include:

*The Loony Toons that had Nazis as the patsies in them

*Loony Toons with characters in black face

*Loony Toons with less than flattering Japanese Characters made during WWII

*Cartoons in which the patsy character says "now I've seen everything" and puts a gun to his head... most of these were Loony Toons. Some were Popeyes. They've had the end edited off.

*Charactors that whistle Dixie

I'm sure there are many more that I can't think of now. But I saw most of these during these 70s when I was growing up. Many you don't see now, and others are edited to remove the offending parts.
 
Typical government beaurocracy. What else do you expect? Well... I shouldn't ask that question. You'll never see shows like Ricky Lake and movies about white trailor trash banned because we're not as untouchable as the other "better" races.

Another example would be the recent pearl harbor movie, wherein just about every shred of historical fact was altered because we didn't want to offend the japanese, perhaps because we've sold pretty much half of our country to them at this point. the fact is that they carried out one of the most vile assaults against this nation in its history, but they really weren't all that bad.

[yeah, and as for the french comments.. the french can go f*ck themselves, given their actions during ww2. now they think they have a right to comment on everything the united states does, says, or thinks, like we give a d4mn. they should never be allowed to forget how they bent over for the nazis, and how WE bailed them out]

[yet another example is the statue that was planned to be erected after the WTC collapsed, of the 3 firemen raising the flag, reminiscent of the soldiers at Iwo Jima. the FACT was that all three of them were white men. Does it really matter? not really... but pc bullsh1t dictates that history must be rewritten so as to say that the three came from three different nationalities. heaven forbid we represent things as they really happened]
