I have a problem with Intel speedstep not working with a Gigabyte B85M-D3H using an I5-4670K CPU when overclocking using Turbo method. The core voltage stays constant at 1.21 V when actual speed lowers to 800 with no load. Using the default setup (no OC) speedstep works fine.

Contrary with an GA Z87X motherboard with Turbo mode OC, speedstep works fine.

I tried BIOS version F8 and F9a with the same result as described above.

Any ideas?

Frequency drops to 800 Mhz, but Core voltage stays at 1.201 with OC to 4.1 (not turbo OC).

Called Gigabyte tech support and they have no clue.

How can I submit a bug report?
 
Speedstep works. Else it would run at 4100Mhz.

Autooverclocking is really awful ways of doing it tho.

You might want to take a look under the BIOS voltage section to see if it isnt better to set some of them manually.

Powerconsumption wise, the most important part is that it downclocks.

I used three different methods to overclock with B85M chipset (the auto overclock 20% fails completely). All three methods CPU Core is FIXED, where it should by dynamic based on load.

Same methods work fine with a Z87 UD3H.

The firmware of the B85M is not as current as the Z87X UD3H. For instance, it missing Extended Profile. I also tried to use voltage offset and change voltage manually with no avail.

Discovered you can submit question to Gigabyte development ggts.gigabyte.com.

I did discovered that with 4.3Ghz overclock the 4670K is stable.

B85M-D3H board is not designed for overclocking. Please use Z87 chipset for OC. Thank you.

The manual and BIOS has all the overclocking parameters, but they don't support it.

Sounds to me false advertising!
