speedstream 2624 router + dlink 650 help

I just got a siemens 2624 speedstream wireless router from the office depot deal and a dlink 650 wireless card to go with it and cant get this wireless setup to work for the life of me. my computer, winxp, doesnt detect any wireless signals at all even though i know that the router is on and the wireless is enabled. wep is diabled and i've tried an avaya wireless card as well to no avail. so basically i cant detect any wireless networks and i'm positive that my network cards are good. and i've double checked the ssid's for both router/ap and card. can someone offer any help? thanks for your time.

I installed 2624 speedstream two days ago and tried it with 650+ it worked very well.

Check all the settings make sure that you start with a computer hook to a wired port for configuration, and the computer with the 650 card near the Router.

Make sure that the same SSID in set in card and Router WEP is off and adequate IP setting.

I am having a similar problem with the 2624 router and the Speedstream PCI and PC cards. I can get both to work in the same room with the Router. However, the router constantly "drops" the connection to the network. The computer with the PCI card cannot even find the network from two rooms and 40' away.

Speedstream support is absolutely non-existent. Their warranty requires you to call their tech support line to get an RMA. There is NO human on the end of the tech support line-it is just a series of recordings directing you to their web page. I tried to submit this via e-mail, but, the tech did not even read what I had written and gave me a solution to a non-existent problem.

I am ready to chuck this dog in the garbage. I would gladly pay more if I could have the time back that I wasted on this pig.

Sigh. I feel better now.

Can anyone suggest a source for an extenstion cable for the antenna on the PCI card?

I have a 650+ card with a speedstream and also have tried with an SMC....
My card keeps dropping the signal over and over..... can't seem to keep a connection. I tried the current drivers and not working..

Anyone else having a similar problem?

Speedstreams tech support has people, did last time I called and I just called to confirm their still are.... Dunno what madpup's issue is, but I'd suggest listening to the prompts.

My speedstream works very well as AP in my networks. I use Orinoco combo gold though !
