**I didn`t know where to post this, so don`t flame me.**

For break, I am back home and since my parents don`t use internet at home, they don`t have any sort of broadband connection. Well, I got a temporary dial-up connection so if any of you know any applications to speed up dial-up connections, would you share please? 🙂
Thanks.

another Q:

what's the real diff between those regular dialup vs. "high speed" dialup (by Netzero & Earthlink)

is it a software enhancement, hardware or just a marketing gimmick?

Its software caching done on your hard drive . Your most viewed pages are stored on the drive , when you go back the only thing that is added is what ever is new . Would work for email , lerking , not a good choice for large file d/ling .

Yeah, really not too much you can do. If you guys have Verizon nearby you can sign up for dsl and I think the first month is free! Then just cancel and send them back the cable modem when you go back to school! Haha.

Ahhh busted! I always say cable modem. Been doing that a lot lately. I meant dsl modem. But it's still a good scam if he's only home for a month right?
