Speeding Ticket warning question

I was pulled over yesterday for doing 75 in a 65 and I recieved a written warning. How do these work. The Officer told me if I was pulled over for speeding again I would get cited. My question is how long will I have this warning showing up when they run my license/tags. Will my insurance company find out and do the usual ticket rate hike, even those I wasn't really cited?

Unless you got an actual speeding ticket you should be fine; speeding ticket is usually a pink piece of paper stating the details of the offense, speed, location, time, vehicle, your info, etc etc. It sounds like he was just being a prick and pulled you over for fun, should have no worries man!

WTF? I didn't hit reply. Dammit this thing's getting buggy.

Uhh, yeah don't worry about it. I don't know if a written warning warning even shows up anywhere. A buddy of mine got a written warning on a scrap of notebook paper once. Fscking Dunstable.

I'm not a police officer, so I'm not sure... but I was always under the understanding that written warnings were logged in the system so if another officer caught you; they know that you have already been warned...

Again - not sure on how long those would stay in the system.

It sounds like he was being a nice guy and just told you to slow down instead of giving you a ticket. Don't worry about it, but if you do get pulled over again, there will be no way to get out of it cause the next officer will see it. I don't know how long it stays on your record, but no one sees it or knows about it.

I don't think it's right to call an officer a prick for stopping someone who is speeding..

I got a written warning five years ago in Indiana, then two weeks ago in Missouri. No stops in between and no tickets (other than these bastard St. Louis parking people :(). If I had to guess, it's probably a three year limit. How long do points stay on your license?

In NY, points are on our license for 18 months.

i think its a year in PA but i'm not sure. i always thought it was the same everywhere.
i always wondered why they never make traffic laws the same everywhere. doesn't really make sense.

Umm, he pulled him over for doing 10 over the limit, which is justifiable. He gave him a warning instead of a ticket, which was nice of him. What makes him a prick?

My first time i was doing maybe 13 over and they gave me a ticket for that and for not wearing my seatbelt.
