Speeding Ticket question

Crap, I got a speeding ticket in Massachusetts (near Boston) last year. I totally forgot about it since I was in the middle of getting my first apt, work and a whole host of other things. I'm supposed to go to Montreal tomorrow for a couple of days but my mom suddenly had a flash of memory and asked if i had paid off that ticket... am I screwed? Will I get arrested in customs or something?

::UPDATE:: Called the Boston municipal building. They gave me the run around for about 20 minutes. Finally got in contact with the registry of motor vehicles. They knew where i got the ticket and when; apparently it was in Natick. There wasn't even any interest. I only got a $100 reinstatement fee tacked on to the original ticket; I paid it off via CC. Based on the tone of the operator's voice, they didn't really give a crap as long as I paid it off. I've got my fingers crossed hoping there are no issues crossing the border.

hahahah you are sooo screwed.

actually. just call them up and say what was going on. they will give you a new amount (+ late fines) and pay it. or they will come arrest you. but at least it will be resolved.

yeah I'm totally willing to pay the late fine; I just don't want to get arrested over something so stupid. The other issue is, I no longer have the original ticket. Can anybody point me at someplace I can get contact information for the municipal building or courthouse or wherever i'm supposed to contact people about this?

Most states are similiar when it comes to tickets. You can head right down to your local government building and tell them what went on. Believe me, they are more interested in your fine + late fees then they are interested in spending money to convict you, especially if you are willing to just pay and put this behind you.

Only problem is i'm from Jersey. Can I walk into the Jersey municipal building and pay it off?

Not with the info you provided. Use Google to find it. I hope you actually know what district you were ticketed in, or you're really screwed.

You need to call the court in Mass listed on your ticket.
They will give you an amount to pay.
You may be able to pay by plastic.

That would scare me. What are they reinstating?

His license was suspended for failure to pay the ticket.

Had he been pulled over for any infraction, the best that could happen is that he started learning to walk or take the bus.

The worst could have been that he collected free room & board with Bubba until the judge where he was picked up listened to his excuses.
