speeding ticket question

When you get a speeding ticket and are offered to do the whole "court supervision" thing. Does that mean that the ticket does not get reported to the insurance comapny?

Supposedly, if you do the court supervision thing - you take a class and the ticket supposedly doesn't go on your record.

You mean traffic school? You should be eligible if you havent had a ticket in 18 months.
 
The only thing that matters is points on your license, at least in my state.
No points, no increase in premiums.
 
Yeah, as long as you haven't been nailed in the preceeding 18 months, you can request traffic school. The judge may not grant it if you were WAAAY over the limit, however. But if you do get it, then it stays off your record.

The downside is that this means you can't contest the ticket. WIth the proper knowledge, you can worm your way out of many speeding tickets in court, especially if the officer doesn't even show up which happens, I have heard, about 20% of the time.
 
It depends I think. If you are still getting a point deduction on your license I think that insurance still is notified. Sometimes judges offer the traffic school and a reduced penalty but not just traffic school alone.
 
Oh yeah... I've seen a few unscrupulous insurance companies ask you if you've ever had a speeding ticket removed from your record through traffic school, so watch out for that too.
 
In Canada any speeding ticket costs you on insurance if you've had more than one every three years; points are somewhat irrelevant.
 
Wow, I like how I got off my ticket, the judge let me pay the ticket and it didn't go on my record. I had the task of not getting any kind of ticket for the next 6 months, but didn't have to do anything else. Was my first ticket, speeding 75 in a 55.
