Speeding ticket question in IL.

just have few questions.

#1. if I plead not guilty and show up at the court and lose, will I be paying full fine with it going into records? or do I still get to choose to goto traffic school?

#2. Are these online traffic schools worth it?

#3. Ive heard about sending in not guilty form by mail, does it work?

here are details now.

I was doing 54mph @ 40 mph zone. when i asked the cop to show me the radar it came up blinking 53mph, he said he clocked me @ 54 mph but got me @ 53mph (i dont know if it makes any difference).

it was by milwaukee and deerfield road in buffalo grove.

oh well, at worst I dont have any records upto now, so I will goto court no matter and see if I can work something out . 🙁

It was 100% my fault but it still makes me mad 😛 oh well happy holidays 😀

How many priors do you have? In the City of Chicago traffic courts, traffic safety school usually isn't done unless you have a few priors.

If you can, go to court and ask for the school, it's 4 or 8 hors, ad they'll take it off your ecord when it's done. if you have no priors.

i dont have any records prior to this, i had 1 speeding before but it was fixed with 12 month supervision which was about 2 years ago.

Going to court won't hurt you, so go to court, unless you really can't miss work. I'm not sure how you plan on pleading not guilty, since you did the crime.

Don't pay the fine. Go to court and use this as your defense. Speeding isn't about safety, it's about revenue. The radar device must be calibrated daily and tested periodically. There's a very, very good possiblity that the donut eater that wrote your ticket failed to calibrate the device that clocked you.
