allright i'm pretty unsure as to how to do this.

i got a ticket doing 104 in a 70 on the way to vegas this weekend. it was reduced to 81 in a 70 which is traffic schoolable and a $300 ticket instead of the ludicrous $1130 the 104 would have been.

now it was 6 am on th 15 . and yes it was fast, i really should get a radar detector. anyhow....

does anyone know what the rules are with out of state traffic tickets. like if i dont do traffic school will my california insurance find out. or will the california dmv be told. apparentlyi can traffic school this for $35 at trafficschoolonline.com , so i could just do that. also i read online if i dont even pay the ticket, they basically cant do anything because i live in california and i would have to be caught in nevada, then again i intend to go to vegas again probably so i'm going to pay the ticket....

but yeah anyone know about the dmv and insurance / traffic school details?

ive heard that the nevada and california dmvs talk to each other in terms of traffic violations the citizens of each respected state commit in the other's state.

*Flamebait post about how everyone drives slow and 104 is not that slow and that the Nanny-Staters need to STFU*

Normally I'm the first guy, but having driven in the desert I'm inclined to give the nod to the second opinion...especially at night when you can see headlights for miles and miles.

I'm surprised 11 over is a full $300...seems steep.

i never really had a out of state ticket. I am pretty sure that NV dmv has connections and steady communications with CA dmv, so don't expect you can get away with it. they will find out. pay the ticket.

ok yes i know this was reckless etc, but my friend convinced me to drive my new car to vegas even with the threat of rocks, and i wanted to see what it could do.

and well i was driving much faster than that earlier. the whole weekend was pretty reckless gambling in general, just a reckless weekend. but well regardless of that i dont want my insurance to get screwed.

and yes i know some of you guys are going to say i endagered lives etc, but i bet most of you would have driven fast given the same car and no cars on the road as well.

the reason i brought up that people say you can not pay tickets from other states, is i figure if you can get away with that, im figuring now way your insurance will ever know, because that makes no sense at all.

Well, from my limited experience it's not the ins co you need to worry about. It's the DMV. If your state has a reciprocal agreement with Nevada then your life is going to suck when you need to renew your license or registration. You will be forced to deal with the ticket but by that time you will already have a bench warrant for your arrest issued in Nevada and it will be a PITA to deal with.

I've been there. (Louisiana and North Carolina)

Yes, I did see that you wanted to deal with this. I'm just pointing out what may happen if you don't.

Slow down.

We will be happy to take your $$ at 7AM or 9 AM. Either way, we will get them.
You can give them to the NHP at &AM or here in Vegas at 9AM.

NOTE:

NHP will not buy you breakfast for your donations:p

California DMVs to have relationships with other DMVs, My tickets in other states have been researched by the CA DMV, and they take that into mind when you appeal the ticket. Likewise, when you are from another state and get a ticket, they run a check on your background to see what tickets you have recieved in your former states of residence.

Why will he have a bench warrant issued if he pays the ticket as he has stated he will?

Iowa's probably cheaper than Nevada.
