hmm... crap... that's a damn good question.. i'd think if you can find someone to explain the situation to you will likely be able to work something out with them!

If court isn't required, just pay the fine and be done with it. If it is, then you're at the mercy of the court.

That's probably me. I had a court date out-of-state while I was attending school. I called up the court ahead of time and basically said I wasn't showing up because I can't get to the courthouse until the semester was over. They were too happy but I was firm and reiterated "I won't show up. Reschedule me." They "caved in" and rescheduled me for a date that was at least 9 months in the future.

You can hire an attorney to represent you and you don't have to attend in person. It'll cost ya but hopefully they'll get your ticket fines reduced a bit.

Or you can just send a written letter in time to request another court date with the reason that you'll be unavailable. I'm working through two of them with close friends at this moment. One's been postponed four times.

You should be able to get a new court date, the question will be whether or not you can put it off long enough to be back from school for it.

Have you considered a lawyer? Other members here have stated that when they hired traffic lawyers they didn't even have to go to court.

That might be the best way to do it.
