I live in Quebec (Canada), and got a speeding ticket back in the beginning of feb. I have one of those young driver's license (I'm 20), and I didn't want to lose my license for 9 months (I also have another ticket in the system from way back in October), and I despise speed traps that pull over dozens by the minute so yes, I contested it.

I *finally* got a court date in the mail, I have to go to court in December this year for the ticket I got in Feb. I never heard anything for the ticket I got last Oct (which I also contested). What I'm asking, is how does the system work? Say I wanted to pay the fine in return for no points, do I ask for that when I go in Dec. or am I supposed to send them a letter or what? I'm really clueless about it. I've considered getting a traffic lawyer to fight it but they would cost even more than the ticket, and there's no guarantee they'd win. I've talked to the bureau of infractions here in Quebec and they weren't very helpful

I contested that one too, but I have heard nothing since.
