You should always check if its still running though. With my 5000 RPM 120mm delta fan itll simply stop spinning if not given enough juice. If its at <30% itll stop, it dosent seem to be able to go under 800 rpm, which is fine by me, it silent at up to 2000rpm.

5000 RPM and your running that off of a motheboard fan header!?, that has to draw a ton of juice!?
