I would try CoreTemp and see what that program says.

There seems to be a rather large difference between your Core 0/Core 1 (those are the CPU temps you're interested in) and the rest of the components. The 15C temps themselves are not implausible - I've seen sub 10C temps on mine when I get home on a cold day and fire the system up for the first time. But the large temperature difference between the hard drives and the CPU seems odd.

You can try something which takes a lot of processing power and watch your temp. Hope that helps.

It's temp2 on my 6750. I also have the same CPU-Z problem. It shows a 6 multiplier instead of 8.

I tend to think that with a E6750, SpeedFan should be showing two readings, for the two cores. I normally figure out which ones it is by comparing to the two CoreTemp readings, and it's normally fairly obviously which are the right ones. Like I have circled here. (it's not a very good example picture, but I just got home and the heating hasn't kicked in yet)

There might be a tiny bit of difference between the two, because they might be reading the temps at not exactly the same moment, but it should still be close.

I just figured out that the Core temp and ambient in my original photo are for the video card. I ran coretemp and speedfan at the same time and have a BIG difference.

http://star.walagata.com/w/gon...empandspeedfantemp.JPG ??? Yikes. I guess I could do an average of all 4 temps, but I suck at math :) It's not that big of a deal, because I am having no problems with my system...I'm just an overly curious man.

PS- Not "THAT" curious though. LoL :)

IS the multiplier 8 or 6??? This could be a motherboard issue, no?

I can't remember exactly which CPUs SpeedFan has trouble with...I'm pretty sure at least one of the Q6600 revisions is affected, and I don't know if the E6750 is as well. You may want to check in the CPU subforum if you haven't already.

But I would probably go with CoreTemp here. 28C - 30C is very reasonable and around what I would normally see (i.e. when my house isn't freezing cold like it was earlier :p).

Disable the Intel Speed Step and C1E in BIOS, so your CPU will stay at x8 multiplier.

No, it's definitely 8. The BIOS says 8 and EasyTune confirms it. Just CPU-Z doesn't seem to see it.
