Question SpeedFan not showing fan speed controls (MSI GE40 laptop)

  • 8 GB Kingston DDR3-1600 RAM

  • Samsung SSD 840 EVO (2013)
  • Western Digital Black (SATA3, 7,200 RPM)
It may not be possible on this system but I thought I'd check with you guys.

I can't find an alternative that allows you to adjust the fan speeds apart from those of the manufacturer of the motherboard, and those utilities tend to be bloated and rubbish.
There are others out there, just Google around and look at posts at places like Linus and Reddit. Users have tried other programs after Speedfan quit being supported, but none have worked as well as Speedfan did back in the day. Some of them might work great for you, but they likely won't.

You should be able to use the BIOS to adjust the CPU fan, and something like MSI Afterburner for the GPU.
