Speedfan and Lockups

I've been having this since I got my PC (more than a year ago) and somehow never traced it to Speedfan. Probably because I was too lazy to do some troubleshooting on my own PC (go figure). Just wondering if its a known problem, perhaps someone with the same motherboard/CPU has the same problem?

Here's what happens:

It boots to the point that the Speedfan logo shows up in the tray, then it locks up right there. No error, nothing. The mouse is immobile as well. All that helps is a hard reboot, sometimes it would happen twice in succession, sometimes it won't happen at all.

I haven't had the time to test it with v4.35 (had 4.33, which gave me the trouble) but once I ran it for a week with Speedfan in Startup I will update whether it still locks up or not.

I've got the same cpu, a 690g mb and speedfan 4.33 as well. Same thing happens to me occasionally but I though it must be due to undervolting with CrystalCPUID at startup because I don't remember anything like it happening before I used CrystalCPUID.

Well I've tested Speedfan 4.35 alright. It also locks up 🙁 I am constantly running my CPU overclocked and only when I have Speedfan in startup will it do that. Highly annoying but what can I do...

I can't comment as I don't normally overclock my processor. When I did, I used 1.3V to achieve 10.5x265 but that never locked up. Are you sure your overclock is stable? Try running orthos to test the CPU and ram.
Also, any chance that something's trying to enable cool 'n quiet or some form of multiplier management?
