It's definitely annoying as hell. I get particularly annoyed by the Canadian guy who's always pushing for some stupid graphics.

All the new shows suck. I hate that SCCA themed show, too. They could show some cool things related to amateur racing, something to promote local clubs, show how people with some money could race on weekends just for fun, how to prepare a race car on a budget... Instead, they think of putting 18" wheels on a Kia station wagon. That's what I want in a show about the sport :( And at the end, after all the ricing, street racing mentality, surfing dude test driving, they advise you to contact a local track.

I refuse to watch that Bush series reality show. Just their accents make me cringe. Hard to decide between that and Tuner Transformation. The new shows tell about the target audience.

And they cut that german show on Sundays, the one with a terrible narration, but some cool test drives.

I'd rather watch a taped Renault Clio race.

I haven't seen it, but I hate every show in which the program is some variation on "And this part is a great product made by XYZ company. It retails for $1095.00, now we'll install it on our project car..." repeated over and over for every new product they can get an advertising deal for.

Tuner Transformation is just HORRIBLE! I just love the guy that doesn't know anything about cars, but then wants to put things on/in the car like body kits, ricer wheels, Playstations. Then when someone brings up a car part to him, he's like, "What's that?" or "What's that do"? He's never heard of stainless steel brake lines or a supercharger? Come on..

The production is just horrible too. I especially love when they thrash the car out in the parking lot before they rice it out. Who gave them this show?

I don't mind the show that follows it. The Kazzer guy is kind of annoying, but he does have a catchy song, "pedal to the metal". I actually like their other show better (Dream Car Garage). I see what they are trying to do though in putting out a show for the import tuner crowd and trying to appeal to a younger crowd. It is kind of weak though.

I saw what I think was the most recent one, with a Mini Cooper S, and the owner seemed visibly annoyed by the stupid spiderweb graphics they applied. From what I have seen of the show, I wouldn't let them touch my car.

I know.. He was. You could tell. What sucks is that they did some really cool and expensive performance stuff to it too like the LSD and the John Cooper Works kit. I wished that I was there and then I would've told the guy to chill because the stupid spider graphics are just adhesive and will come off with a heat gun and some adhesive remover.

That guy that's in charge of appearance is a total tool! Did you see what he had to say about the Mini Cooper S? He said something about being a tiny BMW. Yeah.. BMW makes it, but it's nothing like a BMW. He also made fun of the advertising saying that it had a lot of room inside. It does! I test drove one and when I got behind the wheel, I instinctively put the seat all the way back. I then noticed that I couldn't reach the pedals. I couldn't believe it because I'm 6'1" and there aren't many cars on the market where I can put the seat all the way back and not touch the pedals. The Mini Cooper S is a great car. If anyone disagree's, they should go drive one. You'd really be surprised.

The other thing that bugs me about the appearance guy is that he knows nothing about cars. When they installed a supercharger on a Focus, he asked what the supercharger was. He also asked what stainless steel brake lines do for another car. He doesn't even know how to install the stupid parts that he does suggest that they install. The other guys have to do it. He's useless.

He's almost as bad as that Kazzer idiot on Sports Car Revolution. All he does it pose and say that he likes this, doesn't like that.. Then he says that he'd paint it black. He says this about every car that he tests. Enough already.. I bet they only hired him because they thought that they'd get some of the ricer crowd and because they wanted his catchy theme song for the show.

Chop, cut and rebuild has the potential to be decent. The problem with it is that it's manic and for the attention deficit crowd. They bounce from one project too quickly and you can't keep track of a damn thing that they are doing. I like to see projects start and then get finished. They are bouncing all over the place and it's annoying to me.

I saw the Focus episode last night, and NONE of the people on that show knows anything about cars (including the owners)!

And it bugs me that they slap on a supercharger and upgraded the brakes on the Focus, but they never upgraded any suspension components! Yet after the mods, the skidpad numbers went up! This leads me to think the numbers might be fake...

Owning a 7th gen Honda Civic, watching the Civic episode was really painful. I know that basically nobody makes decent aftermarket parts for this car. The D17 just isn't a tuner's motor. So what do they do? A body kit and wheels, ooooooooooh. That's power. And the "Venom fuel management system" just tricks the ECU into thinking it's at WOT when it's at 80% throttle. Fuel management my arse. With the exception of Cooper S guy, everyone's always all excited about their car's appearance when they're done. I usually can't help but laugh. Hopefully Cooper guy got rid of those stupid graphics, because his car was nice before they dicked with it (and better with the works, of course).

I did find that funny. How in the world would the skidpad numbers increase by not changing the wheels/tires or doing anything to the suspension. It didn't matter anyway. The guy knew nothing about cars. All that he knew about cars was probably what he learned by playing Grand Turismo on his PS2. ;)

I know.. That really bugs me about Honda's direction. They used to make some really great cars that had a lot of tuner potential. I owned a couple of CRX's back in the 80's and they were fantastic cars. They were like little go karts even in stock trim. The cars nowadays seem to be really underpowered and really overweight with very marginal handling. Not even a good base for any mods.

That's one of the things that really impressed me about the Mini Cooper S. It reminded me of my old A1 VW GTI and my CRX's, but with more room inside, modern technology and more power. I know that the Mini is "cute", but I wouldn't even care what the car looked like because it performs. I don't mind a small, high revving motor when the car is small, light and nimble. Nowadays, the Civic and VW Golf class of cars are close to, if not 3,000 lbs. That's way to heavy for the power that you can put in them.

Back to the show.. The only reason why I watch it now is because I want to see how much of the guys can be goofs. Most of it is pathetic, but some of it is funny.

Sal, I think Honda designed their latest gen cars for the American masses - a little more refined, but porkier as a result. All I know is around here every other car I see is a Honda Civic, so they must be doing something right. It doesn't seem to have deterred the ricers either :) I agree with you on the Mini, though. A friend's sister has a standard Cooper with the CVT, and even being slower than the Cooper S (and not being able to row my own), it's still a blast to drive. Not too expensive either. Thumbs up.

Speed needs to get back to thier formula of "here's someone in a vehicle racing". Being able to watch people race damned near anything brought me to the channel. Rally, snowmobiles, boats, sprint, stock bodied cars, motorcycles, dirt bikes, airplanes, pickup trucks, class A trucks... you name it, and they used to show it racing.

Ever since NASCAR came to Speed, it kind of went downhill. I hate NASCAR. I wish that they would've kept it on the hillbilly network. ;)
