I'm installing Windows XP on an older laptop (P3, 256mb of RAM).
I know that XP needs RAM, but all I have to work with is 256. They'll be getting a new computer soon but they need this as a sort of holdover till then.
I thought about installing Linux, but thought better of it considering who the computer is for (I don't think they could handle linux, even though ones like Ubuntu are pretty easy)
Any ways to speed it up? (disabling services, etc...)
I know that NOD32 and Kaspersky are pretty light on RAM, so I though I'd get them the free AOL Kaspersky Anti-virus.
Beyond disabling Indexing, I really don't do much on my desktop (which obviously doesn't really need speed tweaking (look at sig)).
So, what can I do?
Thanks
