Speed Test Uploads?

My company recently upgraded to a 50Mb up/down internet connection and while doing tests on speedtest.net and others we're definitely getting the 50Mb down. However, our uploads never get past 10Mb.

Do these test servers have their download limits capped for some reason or is there a different place to test our upload speeds?

I've already opened a ticket with our provider and they said it should definitely be getting 50 up/down so we'll see what happens.

The upload files they probably use are too small to reach the full 50 Mb/s? Also the location of the servers matter and the settings of your PC could affect the speed too?

Try some of the speed tests on testmy.net or the ones on Speakeasy.net or in the Tools section of Broadbandreports.com.

is it a true, dedicated 50Mb circuit? who is the service from? are you sure its not an "up to" 50Mb circuit?

speed test sites are unreliable and should not be used for accurate measurements.
