Hi ,

I was just wondering if anyone in here had used this Speed Strip to unlock the multiplier on there AMD chip ?

And what effect it has on new AMD chips ?

edit :
Btw that's an awesome overclock you've got from your XP1700!
thanks ... its a good chip it's a DLT3C JIUHB 0310 and thats on air , ive always wanted to get a better cooling setup on it . mabye some day 😉

That's a neat idea!,no messing around with paint or wires🙂

How do you mean its effect on AMD chips? ,used on XP2100s upwards (Tbred Bs) it'll shift the multiplier range from x13 - x17(?) down to x5 - x12.5 🙂

Btw that's an awesome overclock you've got from your XP1700!:Q
I'd love to see a particular benchmark been run on that rig😉

Bartons that came out after week 39 are multiplier locked. I have yet to see a picture of a locked processor, but I would like to. Peace.

The CPU's with the new substrate have the bridge contacts beneath the surface so you can't just use tape like that.

Oh... nevermind, I thought that was another one of those pieces of tape that connects the L1 bridges.

Anyone tried these? TMC-XP Adapter to set multipliers.

*G* on compatibility page their is a picture of a "locked" cpu (I couldn't copy/paste the pix)

If L1 bridge is cut with the picture shown as above, it says that the multipliers are locked and you can't use XP-TMC for adjusting them. Fortunately, multipliers of most of the Thoroughbred-core/Barton-core CPUs in the present market are not locked, so you can just pay little attention for checking that.

Please note that Athlon XP with serial number AxxxA 0332xxxx and later version ( 0333, 0334 ....)printed in the 2nd line are locked version. The multipliers can't be adjusted either through the newest motherboards or XP-TMC. Therefore, if you wish to adjust multipliers for upgrade or overclocking purposes, please do not use Athlon XP CPU of
these particular batches.

How likely is it that these would work?
