Speed settings for single core am2?

first of all, here are my specs.

am2 3800+ new orleans
evga 7600gt
abit kn9 570 sli
ocz gold 2gb pc6400
ocz modstream 520w
seagate 300gb

i have the ram set at ddr667 with 5-5-5-12 timings and 2.1 voltage, but after im playing games with higher end graphics my game would freeze up sometimes. could someone please advice another kit of ram that would work better than the ocz ram i have currently or is the speed a problem? i also notice they're running pretty hot when im gaming. any help would be appreciated.
 
I have to wonder why your RAM needs 2.1v to run at DDR2-667 5-5-5-12. Reducing vdimm would probably alleviate the heat factor a bit.

That aside, if you feel your memory is unstable, you should run memtest86 and seee if it produces any errors.
 
well i think the ocz gold ram needs the 2.1 voltage to run. i'm not so sure, so i set it that way anyway. i'll run memtest tomorrow when i wake up and post the results i get.
